Girls footballers do the double in Ballyhahill
We travelled back to Gerald Griffins Club (Ballyhahill) on Sat 24th April to play back matches cancelled earlier due to problems with pitches due to heavy rain. U12 match was played first and the girls played well from the outset of the match their skills improving through the season .The midfield duo of Regina griffin & Grace Morrissey and Jesse Nash who scored 3-2 were a constant thorn for the opposition as they were winning most of the ball and the final score does not tell the amount of attempts on goal due to great saves on the part of the Gerald Griffin goalie and their excellent defence. That did not stop our girls from trying, there was great football played by all the girls but besides our midfield. Grace Morrissey, Alison Quinn, Marieta Moloney. Katie O Shaughnessy were in the middle of all the action and our own goalie Meara Fitzgerald had great saves with help from our backs and one that stood out was Sarah Clancy who has had the full back position her own and lets very little past her .Every girl from 1 to 17 played their part in this win and the u 12 are really doing well this season we have had 100% record 3 out 3 wins Well Done Girls they will have a well earned rest from games this week ,we will have training Tuesday 27th in Pallaskenry
Final score Killulta 4.4 Gerald griffins 1.1.

U 14
We only had a bare team in Gerald Griffins (Ballyhahill) due to injury and other activities of players on the day but the team we had on the day gave it 200%, thanks to the u 12s who stayed and played second match. Again Saoirse King and Molly McKenna saved us from many attempts on scoring from a team that never gave up trying but molly had her game of the season and was determined to the end and the evidence was in the final score. Emer griffin and Niamh o Shaughnessy dominated the midfield and with the help of the forwards Jesse Nash 3.1, Louise Ryan 1.2 who were all carrying injuries put scores on the board. Jesse had a great day putting another 3.1 on the score board a total of 6.3 also to score was Grace Morrissey 2 pt who would also have scored in the earlier match and Regina Griffin scored 2pts despite the efforts of her marker to get in her way but our Regina constantly outclasses her opponents. Also to score was Ciara Downes 1.1, Ciara normally plays both ages but was unavailable but when she heard we were short for u 14 she travel cross country to be there.
Thanks again to all who travelled to support we really do appreciate it and I know the girls do.
Final score Killulta 5.8 v Gerald griffins 1.1
