Adare no match for U16 Footballers

Killulta Gaels 0-13 Adare 1-4

Killulta Gaels maintained their impressive start to the season, in both codes, with a well deserved 6 point win over Adare footballers in Pallaskenry on Monday 26th last. Killulta built up a 5 point to 1 lead within 11 minutes with points from Darragh Walsh, Jack O'Keeffe and 3 on the trot from an impressive Paudie Walsh, but Adare restored parity by the 14th minute with a point and a goal in quick succession.

However Killulta quickly regained control and dominated the rest of this half with 5 unanswered points, two from Martin Nunan, one each from Paudie and Darragh and an excellent long range effort from Greg Delap.

The second half was a tighter affair with little scoring from either side, only one point each by the 15th minute. Killulta defended well throughout this half but found scores hard to come by against an improved Adare defense.

Two late Darragh Walsh points brought our total for the night to 13 points to give us a 6 point winning margin.Micheal Keating's long distance kick outs and holding Adare danger man Jack Stokes scoreless were major factors in this win. The defense as a whole played well throughout with Greg Delap in particular very impressive at wing back.

Tony McCarthy and Darragh Walsh with a very strong work rate, were on top against a skillful Adare midfield of Robbie Burke and Conor Ryan with Darragh getting 4 excellent points from play.
Up front Eoin Cuddihy's darting runs and sharp passing caused the Adare defense problems. Paudie Walsh's accuracy from play and frees was crucial to this win as was Martin Nunan's 2 first half points.
