Girls Footballers Keep Winning Run Going
GIRLS U14 FOOTBALL
Kilullta Gaels 4-6 Murroe Boher 3-2
U 14 Killulta girls played Murroe Boher Wednesday 05th May In Pallaskenry, It was a perfect evening and the pitch in excellent condition thanks to all who have been involved in the recent development of the pitch.
Even though Killulta finished up as winners of this match Murroe never let up the pace through out the game, only for our outstanding defence who where rock solid the result would have been totally different. With Saoirse in goals and Molly full back, Ciara, Ashley, Shauna, Louise and Emma Murroe did not get a chance to score in the first half. This is not taking from the rest of the team but the backs are unsung heroes of a team as the midfield and forwards usually have the honours ofscoring well done girls. But Murroe did come back in second half and scored 3.2 when they put an extra girl in forward. But we could not take from the girls; they fought for every ball right to the end. There is such a difference in the skill and discipline in the girls from the first game to the game on wed night and with 3 wins in the league and only one match left against St Patricks on Thursday 13th May at 7.30, we should be in the semi –finals. The U12’s next match is on Monday 10th May in Old Mill at 7pm and they are through to semi finals also as they have 3 games won, if you can please come and support the teams. Please check Pallaskenrygaa.com, Kildimo.gaa.ie or on Face book Killulta Ladies Football for any changes to fixtures. Thanks again to all parents for encouraging/supporting &organising the girls to play, we may be doing well in winning games this year, it has not always been the case, last year we only won one game with the 2 teams, but the girls that have kept coming to the games and training have learnt and improved so much, well done girls. But the important thing is to keep encouraging the girls to come to training and games no matter whether they are starting off or playing awhile.
