ALL COUNTY HURLING LEAGUE JUNIOR DIVISION 1B
ACHL JUNIOR DIVISION 1B ROUND 4
ST. KIERANS 2-09 PALLASKENRY 1-08.
We travelled to Ardagh last Tuesday to take on St. Kierans in the ACHL and very nearly caused an upset as we matched our opponents most of the way. We led by one point at half time, 1-5 to 1-4, despite missing a number of players due to exams and injuries. Simon Guerin got us going with a point in the sixth minute but this was quickly cancelled out by a free from St. Kierans. We fell behind to a goal midway during the first half but points from Ian Gibbs & Kenny Rogers with a ’65 and a free kept us in contention before Pauric Nash goaled in the 23rd minute. Another free from Kenny Rogers was answered by two points from St. Kierans as the half drew to a close.
It was nip and tuck early in the second half as the lead changed hands several times with Daniel Hannon & Rogers hitting points for us but unfortunately full back Eoin Jackson received an injury and had to be replaced. This appeared to give St. Kierans more space and time on the ball and the pulled away scoring 1-2 to 0-1 in the final quarter to win by four points.
As Camogue Rovers have withdrawn from the league we don’t have another match until Tuesday June 30th at home to Askeaton.

ACHL JUNIOR DIVISION 1B ROUND 3
PALLASKENRY 0-06 FEOGHANAGH/CASTLEMAHON 1-16.
We hosted Feoghanagh/Castlemahon in the All County League last Tuesday, May 5th, but the men from the West were far quicker and skillful and won out on a scoreline of 1-16 to 0-6 with Kenny Rogers scoring five points from frees.
ACHL JUNIOR DIVISION 1B ROUND 2
CROAGH/KILFINNY 2-15 PALLASKENRY 1-10.
We travelled to Croagh last Tuesday week to play Croagh/Kilfinny in the second round of the All County Junior Hurling League but like the first round awayto Templeglantine we came off second best with the home side pulling away in the second half. We held our own in the first half with some good performances in defence from David Keating, Adrian Guerin & Eoin Jackson and up front Daniel Hannon & Ciaran Ryan were proving to be a handful. Kenny Rogers pointed a couple of frees and Hannon hit a goal but a couple of Croagh goals had them ahead at half time on a scoreline of 2-5 to 1-5.
Croagh upped the tempo and pulled away in the second half but we kept trying to the final whistle. Once again Simon Guerin did well at midfield and was helped by Padraig O’Connell and Shane Loftus when he came on. Ian Gibbs added a couple of points and did well also when coming on but it wasn’t enough as Croagh outscored us ten points to five in the second half. Next up is our first home match against Feoghanagh/Castlemahon next Tuesday, May 5th, in what will be a busy month for us. The City Junior A Hurling League also begins this month and first we are away to Na Piarsaighon Saturday May 9th. Training continues on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

ALL COUNTY JUNIOR HURLING LEAGUE DIVISION 1B
TEMPLEGLANTINE 1-6 PALLASKENRY 0-6.
We made our bow in this years’ All County Hurling League last Saturday evening following a long trek back to Templeglantine and despite a gallant effort we left empty handed with a three point defeat. Templeglantine settled the faster and were 1-2 to no score up after fifteen minutes with the goal coming in the fifth minute as the full forward pulled first on a long delivery to give keeper Stephen Downey no chance. Points from Shane Loftus and Simon Guerin gave us some hope going in at half time as the deficit was reduced to a goal.
Kenny Rogers cancelled out an early Templeglantine free before a point by Simon Guerin reduced to the gap to just two points. Mossie Sheehan & Darren Walsh replaced Ollie O’Regan & Ciaran Ryan in attack as the management tried to freshen things up. But a couple of points in the 12th and 13th minutes helped Templeglantine stretch their lead before Kenny Rogers pointed a free following good work by Darren Walsh. Two further points followed one for either side in the next two minutes but that was to be the end of the scoring as in the final quarter both sides drew a blank. Andrew Ryan replaced Keith Enright and Ian Gibbs came on for Daniel Hannon in the last ten minutes with Hannon having a goal disallowed and Ryan doing well at full forward.
Team: Stephen Downey, David Keating, Adrian Guerin, Eoin Jackson, Jerome O’Connell, Padraig O’Connell, Brendan O’Shea, Shane Loftus, Emmett O’Brien, Kenny Rogers, Simon Guerin, Ciaran Ryan, Daniel Hannon, Keith Enright, Ollie O’Regan. Subs: Chris McMahon, Andrew Ryan, Pauric O’Shea, Eoin O’Brien, Darren Walsh, Ian Gibbs, Mossie Sheehan, Ian Mulcahy.
